Colorado Smog 3rd Fail... what to do next?

awesome. if it happens again remember this. . .
Sea Foam and then engine restore.
image002.jpg

put sea foam in the intake through a vacuum hose. its cleans out EVERYTHING.

after that, put sea foam in the oil and run it for a day or two.

drain the oil, change the plugs. put in new oil and some engine restore (they have 4, 6, and 8 cylinder formulas).

that **** works. i dont care what anyone says.

Alcohol

Had a Samurai that failed emissions at the CO state testing station. Part of the problem was that it had larger than stock tires. I let the fuel level get very low then poured in a gallon of pure alcohol, just for the test. It passed and then I filled the tank to dilute the alcohol down. Not sure if other vehicles would respond similarly.

I know a shop in Denver that will pass you :D, you by chance in or around Denver? not that he is illegally doing it or anything, he just gives it the good old classic emissions test.

You know the one where he'll stuff rags in all of your exhaust pipe holes.... has a sign on the wall that says " Tips are greatly appreciated!":haha:

Congrats on passing! I suffer through this every year here in Arizona with my 67 Ford F-100. FFR, here's what works for me on the Ford:

1. Retard the timing. (retard to 5; normally it's 8)
2. Lean out the carb a lot (turn in idle mixture screws and then advance idle to keep it running)
3. New PCV valve
4. Add one gallon of denatured alcohol to 1/2 tank fuel ($10 per gal at Ace Hardware)
5. New oil
