:doah:

Well, late this afternoon I went to prep my truck for this Saturday's trail ride. (This will be the first trail ride for my new-to-me '90 Blazer.) The plan was:

Install steering brace.
Remove sway bar.
Install CB radio.
Replace brake pads.
Remove 2 of the 4 front shocks.

So, I now live in an apartment, but the Church I attend up the street lets me do work on my truck in their lot. My tools are stored at my office at the University. So I "prepared" and drove over to the church to do the work...

1. Went to install the steering brace but forgot my drill so I couldn't drill out the front crossmember for the brace. :doah:
2. Went to remove the sway bar, but needed a giant socket or monkey wrench, which were both left at my office at the school. :doah:
3. Forgot to pick up my antenna and coax cable from the storage unit the other day when I was there, and I'm headed back tomorrow so it didn't make sense to do an extra run today. :doah:
4. Left the damn brake pads at home. :doah:
5. The bottom shock mount bolts are terribly long and need to be replaced with something shorter when I remove the extra shock, so I didn't pull them. :doah:

If I were to go back out and get everything, it would have been near dark by the time I got started again.

So, truck projects: 5, me: 0. :doah:

:haha:

Tomorrow, I hope.

Look at the bright side. At least you didn't break anything. :D

Do you live off King's Row?

You're also welcome to work in my driveway. I just got a bandsaw and a portaband :D

Gotta love those days.

Mine usually involve me breaking something and then having to fix it. Yours went well comparatively.

Thanks!

I live up near north McCarren and 395. We should get together for a beer or something sometime soon.

most build days end up with negative progress, so i think by CK5 standards, you've actually gotten better results out of your day than most of us do.

x2

My last project was tranny flush and filter change. PO had cross threaded one of the bolts in the pan. Today my Blazer is at the transmission shop having a broken easy out drilled out...:doah:

so your co-pilot is the same as mine.. Murphy...

well i agree.. it is frustrating but doable.. and i too am in the boat where i end up braking something.... and 99% of the time cut myself and bleed everywhere...

I agree with everybody else. No progress was made, but no setbacks were made either. I tore a seal I couldn't find, dumped needle bearings everywhere and dropped a 205 on my hand yesterday...

Cheer up--you could have been ME,and having a cataracr surgically removed at 8 am yesterday...:(

The good news is now my left eye has GREAT vision, but only from 4-5 feet and further away--to type this I just about had to use my nose--and I will not be getting the other eye done for at least a few weeks and U'll need reading glasses ,so I wont be online much the next few weeks..U'd much rather be under my truck than "half" blind!..:doah:

that seems to be the course sometimes Colby...I've had many days like that, brainstorming, trying to fit something up, or fab another bracket, whatever....I've ended up where I just put something on the truck to show some progress....

That has happened to all of us.... next time follow my rule... if 2 things dont go right dont wait for the third and get a beer.....

Do you like it? I thought about picking that up the other day, but thought it might be too adventurous for the folks we were going to have dinner with. They like pretty plain and simple stuff... I've liked all the pumpkin beer I've had so far. :)
