Converting 2wd Th400 to 4wd

Its a 2wd tranny that im going to switch out shafts and get a 4wd shaft. My question is how will I have to get it to bolt up to my 205? The 205 Is hooked to a blown up TH 350 right now. Will I have to get a 4wd adapter or get a 2wd one that they sell through advanced adapters? Thanks

4wd if you switch out the short shaft

you will need the transfer case adaptor for the 400 to 205 and the 32 spline input for the transfer case

huh? i too have a 2wd TH400 sitting in my garage.

the 4wd adapter is shorter because of the short shaft, if you have a 2wd tranny it has a long tail shaft, so you can either get a longer adapter to cover the shaft, or get a shorter shaft and a shorter adapter.

I am hoping to do the same thing and got quite a few response here on the forum http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158569 though I wasn't able to come up with a solution as yet. Please, please let me know what you find out as I am in the exact same boat 2WD TH400 going into a truck with a T350/205.
