Alright a buddy is offering me a set of matched rears, a dana 44 and ff 14b. They are both 4.10 geared and were both just completely rebuilt. Only issue is that the front is drum brakes. Is it possible to convert to disc? He only wants baout $150 for both so I am gonna get it whether i use the dana 44 or not.

I just finished changing an open knuckle drum brake D44 (75 model) to disc brakes on my son's F**D Bronco. Pretty easy actually. I got spindle, steering knuckle, hubs, rotor, calipers and dust shields from a later (78) model and bolted everything in place after removing everything from the ball joints & out. What year is your axle? Closed or open knuckle?

don't know yet haven't seen them and he didn't say. I want to go disc brakes on the 14 bolt but its a little odd discs out back and drums up front /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
