I've got my K5 insured for 25k (and would be losing money) at Grundy, no offroad coverage, only on road and trailer. One of the big problems with restoring an old 4x4, is that you cannot insure them for a proffesionally estimated value. None of the antiuqe and classic car insurer's will touch a 4x4. I have talked to classic car insurers, like Haggerty at car shows, and they said they do not insure any 4x4 vehicles. This scares off big money collectors, who do not want to take the investment risk.
get a different rep. I had my 79 k10 insured through Haggerty for 15 grand. I wanted more but they wouldn't go higher, but it was insured. One of the big problems with restoring an old 4x4, is that you cannot insure them for a proffesionally estimated value. Take half of that lift out, throw on a set of 33's, and that would be a pretty cool burb.here's the burb I mentioned earlier
