Cool K30....

Been on Craigslist for a year or so. He has a suburban for sale too.

I hope it's worth more than 9K. If so many of us have flat out lost our ass on these trucks/restorations.

One thing that I personally think is a killer on it, is why anyone would restore an interior back to scottsdale specs. That interior is bland and boring.

Yeah I agree the interior is bland. I personally think these trucks just haven't rounded the corner yet to a classic. I believe in the next 5 to 10 years you'll see a big jump in price.

If that thing was a 72 with a blown big block and paddle tires I could see the investment being a little more realistic but I think this guy is watching too much gas monkey.

The bumper is a piece of cheese too.

One of the big problems with restoring an old 4x4, is that you cannot insure them for a proffesionally estimated value. None of the antiuqe and classic car insurer's will touch a 4x4. I have talked to classic car insurers, like Haggerty at car shows, and they said they do not insure any 4x4 vehicles. This scares off big money collectors, who do not want to take the investment risk.

Pretty awesome. Wouldn't last 5 minutes on the street without getting a ticket around here lol. I mean I can get away with a lot but not 14 inches of lift.

I've got my K5 insured for 25k (and would be losing money) at Grundy, no offroad coverage, only on road and trailer.

get a different rep. I had my 79 k10 insured through Haggerty for 15 grand. I wanted more but they wouldn't go higher, but it was insured.

I will have to call Grundy some day, because a sales rep for Haggerty told me "we do not insure 4x4 vehicles" when I talked to them at a Jackson Barret car auction.

And this is why I build cars for me to enjoy them and not for the next buyer. With few exceptions, you're not going to get back the money and time that you put in. And for most collectors, they want them in bone stock, numbers matching, etc. to be worth top dollar. I never could understand the people who fix up cars, never drive them, and hang onto them like a piece of art hoping they'll go up in value. That being said, that's a pretty nice truck, he'll probably get someone to bite at a few grand less, though it might be a tough sell in the SF bay area...

I have my K10 insured through Hagerty. They were very insisting that it not be offroaded or they wouldn't cover it.

Very cool truck, except that interior. Why anyone would ever restore a cab to scottsdale specs is beyond me.
