Well since I have found that this site has a huge amount of useful information. I pretty much ditched everything else I was looking at. So here is a little history on my truck. I bought it from a co worker at the beginning of last year. I previously owned a 79' K10 and wanted to get another. This truck is a K20 Camper special with a 350/th350 combo. I traded it to another co worker for a short while but just recently got it back. Now that I have it back I'm going to move forward with my plans to update this truck and enjoy the hell out of it. I'm also building a 1974 Mazda Rotary Pickup, that is my long term project.

Anyways the truck came with a 3 inch body lift and 2.5 inch suspension lift on 33's. The tires had plenty of tread but the tires were hard and horrible in wet weather. So those got upgraded to 35 inch toyo AT2's and 17 inch fuel wheels. The suspension will get replaced eventually as it's fairly worn out as well. Gonna drop the quad shock setup and go back to four shocks all around. Bilsteins will be my shock choice. The front leaf springs have leveled out a bit, so those will get replaced soon as well.

i've slowly replaced alot of items on the engine to try and wake it up some more. it's a 355 with ported heads, mild cam, and a holley carb(i'm brain farting on the size, I want to say 600). The plan right now is to replace most of this with a LM7/4L80E combo with a cam upgrade of sort. The 350 runs good but is underpowered for this truck and the gas mileage sucks. This is my daily for the moment and I would love to give it a good bump in the power department.

I also started replacing most of the lighting with LED's. I have more pictures, I just have to find them as most are not on my photobucket.

These pictures are from when I got the truck back on the road. It had been parked for 10 years before I got it.

So for now enjoy.

One of my favorite upgrades.

I got pretty lucky with this truck. The previous owner is a very meticulous person. The truck was stored out of the weather.

One thing I gotta figure out. The truck has a quad shock set up on front and rear. I wanna get rid of it, but I'm wondering if I should keep the fronts at least. Thoughts from you guys?

Like a few guys have said on here before......

Quad shocks were needed in the 80's because shocks were terrible. The shocks being made today, have better characteristics therefore not needing to run multiple.

Ditch the eleventy shocks for a nice pair:thumb:

That's what I gathered after going through a few threads. I'm sure a set of Bilstien 5100's should be an improvement.

Ditch the quad shocks and the body lift.

Oh yeah that's all going. I will have to cut and re weld the bumpers. They were moved to accommodate the body lift. My plan is to remove all that, add a 6" lift with Bilstien shocks. May look into doing different style bumpers eventually.

I would recommend a 1" body lift though. They make it nice to work on things under the truck, give a small amount of tire clearance, and don't stand out like the 2"+ body lifts do.

clean, nice truck!
excited to see what comes of it

Well found out last night I don't have parking lights, thanks to the local PD. After looking for my multimeter for 2 hours. I found that I don't have power on that wire going to the lights. So that's my task for the weekend.

Welp looks like the rear wiring harness took a ****. I've got power going in and nothing coming out to the parking lights. everything else works. I spend enough time patching old wiring. So I got on brothers and ordered a new harness and a new LED tail lights. I will have my old set and lens for sale soon if anyone is interested. I might have to look into ordering the rest of the wiring harnesses if these turn out to be decent.
