Thanks

I've got friends who have had the S/T's and they get great reviews. They're definitely more capable than an AT but then the caveat comes in...they're definitely not a full fledged mud tire either. They'll get you further than an AT but not as far as a MT.

I say buy some MT's. We've been over this before and for what you're doing the MT will fit all your needs and then some.

anyone ever run the Klever M/T?

not the best picture

but i can get them with mounting and balencing for $135 a tire

I bought a set of used 37 inch STTs from a guy on here, I can't comment on how well they work 'cause I haven't put 'em on yet.:doah:But, I can say the STTs look great! I also bought a brand new spare and I gotta say, a 37x12.50R17 for $264 brand new strikes me as a very worthwhile deal!:D

Kenda is one of Cooper's offbrands, and having run some of their offbrands, they'll likely do you just fine. Good stuff.:D

383, he's had a number of posts on this subject and we've basically figured out he doesn't need the 3 ply sidewalls and fancy name of the BFG's and Michelins. Good stuff but expensive overkill for what a lot of us do with our tires since we aren't rock crawling or dragging our sidewalls across hard, pointy objects.

blowed, I suggested that a while back but apparently his mom and pops don't go for the used tire thing.

The BFG's I posted were the same price as the tires he was looking at. Just trying to get more options out there :dunno:

one more question then i think i am good

Whats a good cheap tire that already has siping cut into them? I can't find anyplace that will sipe tire without voiding the warenty

Do it yourself. I sipe all of my own tires and it only takes about 20 - 30 minutes per tire. You can buy all sizes of widths for the blades. I also find that hand siped tires last longer. Just watch where you put the sipes. Check this place out.

That's what I do. But most places that sipe will warranty the tires they siped that you bought from them.

Have you looked into getting Pro Comp tires? They are made by Cooper Tire.
I just bought a set of 12.50x 33" MTs for $550 delivered to my door.

I like them was very impressed with their performance both off and on road. They are siped and have good manners on slick icy/snowey roads.
IIRC 4wheelcustoms is also a vendor here on CK5 too

I actually got to see a set of STT's on a maiden run for a local guy . Worked ok , He didn't let enough air out for hsi light rig , but they worked well . Its a Jeep with complete GM drivetrain .

I could see them working fine on a heavier K5 .

I could be mistaken but, I think that siping'll void the warranty whether he does it or somebody else does. I tell ya, the road hazard warranty is a good thing to retain, I've saved like $400 thanks to warranties on tires on my GF's car and my vehicles!:D
