Corp14ff mini spool

If you weld it correctly it will never break. 14 bolt is a great design. I make mine into a spool . One Giant chunk of metal. Never failed me yet. Now if you do a half ass job or , just weld a few places than you can have failure. Spool is a complete waste of money in a 14 bolt. Only way I would agree it is stronger is a Full spool . But definitely not a MINI.

I was just askin if anyone had any problems with the spool, We all know welding is cheaper than buying anything. But Ive only heard of welds breaking, no spools, so I am happy with my decision to go with the spool

I doubt you would have issues with a spool, mini or full, as long as it was a decent part made by a reputable company. But I'm going to guess that the number of welded 14-bolts greaty outnumbers those with spools, so of course you will hear more about the part that is more common.

Agreed, I've seen several welded up rear ends that broke the welds. Two of them took out the ring and pinion from the broken weld debris.

If its done right, welding up the rear is certainly a good option.

i got the rear welded on a fullsize 10 bolt in the back of a s10, if i blow that thing up i can just put in another 10 bolt for cheaper then i can buy a spool for them things are everywhere

spool gave up on me

I installed the mini spool from Poly Performance last week. I guess the spider bolts ( thats what I am calling the four bolts or rods that extrude from the thing) are just pressed in. I know that there are mini spools that are all one piece but this one isnt. Anyways, ya know how the troughs in the carrier extent all the way to the end? well the bolts came out of spool and would occasionally slide back in and give me rear wheel drive, so took spool out and had a buddy bring my spider gears to me and welded them up and put it all back together. Did I get a bad mini spool or is that the way they are made from Poly Performance?
