Correct blue engine color paint?

GM introduced the “corporate blue” from ‘77~’82 ( after that black ) because when they had some lawsuits due to all the Chevy motors showing up in other GM makes - their cure was paint em all the same color and most folks won’t know or can’t identify the difference in engine models.

Most of the high temp paint makers use their own shades and tints so don’t fret over it too much - besides any original color on an existing engine has distorted paint color by now.
Get some corporate blue of any make you like and spray it all from that same brand.

I contacted Dupli-color.

Chevy Blue item#DE1609 would be listed for 56-62 (6cylinder engine)
GM Blue engine enamel item# DE1608 would be listed for engine usage for 1976-1982 years.

This guide was not specific for the K5s. At some point the engine color went from red to blue on the K5s. I know 78 K5 was blue. I'll get the GM blue.

The orange paint was also less weight and therefore the cars were faster !

This is DE1609 on the transfer case and engine block. Also, the original engine when I bought the truck (don't judge) had the same or very close color.
