corrosion resistant sprays?

Hey all I was wondering what your thoughts were on the sprays used on batterys and cables to help prevent corrosion? Do these in anyway cause resistance in the system? Just curious
I use anti-sieze on my battery terminals. The metal powder in it helps conductivity while the oil base prevents corrosion. It's messy when you work on your battery, but that seems to be the only drawback.
