Cost of Dana 60 front, rant

For what "everyone" wants for them. I can buy all the cool parts and weld it together myself.
The cheapest D60 I found on carpart.com, is $750+shipping.
Then, its still a D60, that needs rebuilding, with bunch of spendy parts to make it worth owning.

If that's the case, I want the Ford 9inch center section, with Reid Racing inners/outer, spool, and an Iron carrier.

What is the answer? I don't know.

High pinion, big tubes, 35 spline stock, 1550 capable.
It's got it goin on. Driver drop and coilover time bubba.

Moser makes the ford center section, = $400,
4 inch OD, .375 wall, 6 feet. = $200
Ried racing inner/outer, = $2K
40 spline shafts = BOOKOOO $$$$
Brakes = Probably the cheapest parts on the list
Bad news all around, $$$$ wise.

That’s just it, location is everything. Round here everyone pretty much knows what they have and asks top dollar. I was stupid lucky and owe @munepit for the opportunity. Pick-a-part gold find at $68. Drove 3 hours round trip. Might even be able to find the thread he posted. I jumped on that so fast!

Bought an entire rolling frame for $200 last weekend. I have found superduty 60s at wrench a part. I however have only found two kingpins at the scrap yard, not salvage parts yard.

i have 2 good bare builder 60 fronts . cant give them away here on the east coast . took me well over 2 years to sell the last 60 front i went threw and did a full service to bring it back to running drop in and go no problems service . and the guy had a friend pick it up on his way home to like indiana if i recall .

This is the cheapest way to get a D60 here--and many other good donor parts..

I've been tempted to look at this truck,its not far from me..

Not that I need a 1 ton dump truck--but it has all the new parts my K2500 needs replaced ,a D60 front,and the fact its been converted to a carbed 350 instead of the original 6.2 also is a plus for me,being EFI reluctant --no emissions on an old truck either..
I'd rather put cab mounts and floors in a square body than fix what my truck now needs..
