cost to restore K5 Blazer 1970

Ken Diggit, last I heard was $50k deposit, $250,000 commitment and had a 6 month waiting list. This was winter of 2018, Covid may have changed that, but I doubt it.

Take any number you think it might cost and double or triple it. Do the same for time.

But the question itself lead to many more questions. Starting condition, who's doing the work and and what is the expected outcome? We talking mint, show trailer queen, resto-mod with modern running gear, wheeler or weekend cruiser?

The last Icon reformer '69 Blazer went for $265,000. That's about as top of the line you can go for a resto-mod Blazer done by pros.

He did say "buy the parts", so I think the assumption is DIY restoration.

I'd start at $10K.

It does depend entirely upon what OP means by "restore"

He could spend $80k on paint alone if he wants.

Exactly!
Without pics, expectations, ability, intended use, etc., then this is pretty much a guessing game.

Thank you for the replies everyone. Yes, I was just wondering about parts alone (pricing)...not for labor or paint. So consensus between 10-20K?

That's probably reasonable. The quality of the truck you're starting with will help a lot.

Are we talking body and interior only or are drivetrain and engine involved? Short answer is it adds up fast (both time and $$), even in a DIY situation. At the end of the day, it really comes down to what you want to do with it and what you're willing to spend.

I am already $2000 in on parts for my 1974 blazer and I am not even close to being done. It wasn't even fun stuff either just sheet metal and missing pieces. I have not even started on drivetrain, axles, and suspension yet.

$10k is a reasonable starting point for parts for a complete rebuild.
