Couple pics of my latest project

who's fisher plow in pic ?

and my crew cab is 2+2 now with highback full recline 2 arm rest units from a van. but back 2 wont recline as hit back of cab. not my problem tho. i am up front.

The truck is at my buddy's house. His brother in law bought a Dodge for a plow truck. Got into some trouble, now the truck/plow belongs to my buddy. We took the plow off one Dodge to put on the blue one. Got the wiring done, need to get the mount painted and put on the truck, then some small stuff to the truck and should be ready to go.

Lantz's had a couple trucks up there with plows on them, want to say they were Fisher's, but been over a month since I've been there.

Thought I'd ad some pics, these are from today. Still have a crapload of work to do, but since it's a half mile from my apartment, should be getting a lot done. The bumpers are from Kurt, and sweet is an understatement!!!!! I think you could hit a tractor trailer and total it out and only scratch the paint on these.

When I turn the B-52 brackets around (:doah:) I'll mount it up and take some pics....

those 427td engines are really good. they last alot longer than 454s and have a better power band. nope, i dont know why, but thats what i have seen when i worked on alot of bigger stuff. and the old school racer guys would build a 427 over a 454 anyday. the shorter stroke must be the way to go. i dunno.
lookin good though. that looks like nice bed.

I hear they put out close to 500 ft/lb of torque, so that should make it fun to drive. Hopefully this weekend I can make some more progress, I need to shim the body/box up, for some reason it's sitting lower where the two meet, maybe the truck had one too many heavy loads and tweaked the frame a little.....

awesome man, i am planning on doing this. how much work was the frame shortening? have any pics/measurements? thanks.

It's either the frame was bent from the start, or somehow when the frame was welded up it got bent. It's not that huge a deal, just need to shim it up some.

14" between the front bed mount holes and the rear spring front hanger, and 5-6" off the very end of the frame. I have some pics in my sig, but can get more.

Man, I want a truck just like that with a cummins in it as well for a haul truck. I love those big 4 door GMCs, that are awesome looking trucks.

Once I get the 427 in and running, I'm gonna get the 2 Cummins engines that I found and make one out of both, then sell the other. I just want the truck to drive down the road!!!!
