Question #1 > My brake calipers won't fit in the brackets I have. The calipers have a little nub on the bottom (see pic) and I don't know what to do, notch the bracket or grind the caliper? I'm leaning toward grind the caliper.

Question #2 > Does anybody know what brand brackets these are and/or do you know what year the calipers are so I can get some pads? These are all parts that came with my blazer so I am in the dark on alot of it. Thanks!

You can grind either the bracket or caliper, you won't hurt either.

As for pads, any late 70's 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton K-series truck will use the pads you need.

Bring the calipers to the parts store with you and you can find the pads and the banjo bolt that fit.

Sweeeet! Thank you! One more quick question, do you know what banjo bolt the caliper takes?

It depends on if the caliper is from a D44 or a 10 bolt I think. D44 banjo bolts (roughly 1978 and earlier K-series 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks) use an SAE size, 10 bolt calipers (roughly 1979 or later) use metric (10 mm IIRC) banjo bolts.

i dont know if theres any difference, but i bought '87 blazer front calipers and they fit on my DIY4X brackets just fine.

Well I was going to order my stainless brake lines from ORD or somewhere so I can't exactly drive over there. I guess I could but its about 9 hour drive I think. LOL. I will take them in for the pads though. Thanks!

You can also check the banjo bolt at the store, but not buy it there.

That looks like a 10 bolt front caliper, I think you have an ORD (off road design) bracket as well. Go get 3/4 ton dana 44 front calipers and use those as use the ones you have as cores. Or grind....your choice.
