Cracked Flex Plate?

What does a cracked flex plate sound like? Like a supercharged lifter clatter?

it sounds like a really loose rocker arm. When engine is cold, it can't be heard, but as it warms up (2-3 min) it begins and gets louder as it gets warmer.

Definitely sounds like it's coming from the valve train

Can't really isolate where the noise is comming from, but today it sounds like from the rear of the engine. That's why I'm asking about flexplate.

Pulled the flywheel cover off and didn't notice any change in sound, and unless it's cracked between the mounting bolts, it ain't cracked. TC bolts are tight. So now...on to pulling valve covers to check valve train.

if its the flex plate , put tranny in reverse and drive. it will change sounds,, and sometime in reverse it will eliminate the sound

Many times this is how they crack. They also crack between each of those large holes.
