Since we fairly often have threads pop up with someone asking about a CL truck, I was thinking maybe we could consolidate them here, to one thread.

I'll start. :D

Anyone think this is worth $10k? I clicked on the ad thinking I was about to see a nutjob with gold-plated turds, but the first pic hit me with awesome immediately. Still, I'd like to see a nice interior for $10k. Also, the "possibly" 42,000 miles means it's really 142,000 or 242,000, but the odometer digits let him get away with saying he doesn't know.

1984 GMC SIERRA CLASSIC CREW CAB DUALLY PICKUP **LOW MILES*** - $10500

6.2 diesel in a 3+3 ?......deduct 3,000 bucks just for that!..
It would be sluggish empty, and get no better mpg than a 454 truck..

I think many craigslisters have a seriously distorted sense of reality..
They want more for a vehicle than it sold fer new,30 or 40 years later in many cases..many still need a complete restoration too..:screwy:..

Not a chance. 2wd with a different color dash sheet metal. Tan interior that's all ragged out. Some strange accessories.
2wd.
Would the dash metal not match the interior?
I missed the odd accessories, saw a push button, probably for the glowplugs.
New seat covers aren't much, think I would have replaced them before placing the add. Would have played up the banks turbo and ditched the seats in the bed. Not a bad truck for 30 years old but not worth the 10,500.
What's up with the 2 access panels on the inner rear fenders?

Oh yeah, I totally missed that it was 2wd. That drops it out of consideration altogether for me.
Yeah, I was thinking if he had no price on it, $5k would be high.

What power Windows, all I see is powered by hand.

The seats in the back aren't bolted down, their Captain chairs to replace the front bench. Odd they don't make mention of that.
Even with the Turbo, the 6.2 is a death sentence, but I think they think the low mileage is worth more then it really is.
That being said, 6-8k

@skunked is that really a 3-4k Truck in your neck of the woods?

Yeah it is and I say that assuming it's rust free and secondly, it's a diesel titled truck that does not require smog or any type of emissions testing.

Not an ad. But this is a truck I've been driving by occasionally. I finally caved in and stopped on it. I have been seeing this truck in The same spot for about 4 months now.IMG_20170819_084706828_HDR.jpg
Now, this truck takes a much better picture then it's in real life. The paint is really oxidized, and faded/chalky.
350/350/203, rust free. Original interior. Aftermarket seat. 4 inch kit, and 33s. Really clean, nice looking truck, nothing fancy.

Now, it sits in front of a little auto shop, I think they should change their name to gas monkey.
Or maybe they think the road its on the Barrett-Jackson driveway?
I am not sure but they are way, way over priced imo. It's a nice truck but it needs to have some sort of high hp engine or a big block/t-400 combo, or a one ton drivetrain.
Or no dents in the front sheet metal, the tailgate looked like a grizzly bear was trying to get out of a cage.

Or at least a new paint job.IMG_20170819_084716353.jpg

This. The guy doesn't know what he has, and the mods are strangely inconsistent. There is no possible way to call that a "very pretty" interior. Anyone owning a Banks Kit is expected to be overly proud of it (and he doesn't seem to know it's an add-on). Didn't mention the dual tanks, either. The A/C hose is mangled and in the wrong spot. A lot of dollars have flowed into aesthetic add-ons. But I would not expect that truck to pull $3k. Maybe $4k. He's just hoping to ride the high diesel prices.

Plus, a truck with 42,000 actual miles would not be needing new injectors. :deal:

Plus, the short sentences and obsessing over external cosmetics makes it hard to read this without hearing Donald Trump's voice.

I looked at this one in a parking lot a bit ago....
$7500 for a Silverado trimmed k5. It had both rockers rotted thru. Trim missing, interior gutted, just old carpet left in the front only. Headliner and trim missing. Dash in bad shape.
Sadly that is the price and condition they are in down in south Alabama.

I feel like I saw dozens of those around the desert between AZ and Vegas. That's a sweet truck, but there have to be better restore deals out there.

Agreed. That's what that truck would bring here in the rust belt

Apparently CO has gone stipid too...

Just ran a quick cragslist check of K5's, most were wanting 5-7k for a rusty stocker...

Crazy people out wanting almost 10k too.
