Get a DRW D70HD from a non cab & chassis dually truck. Swap the wheel hubs from your SRW 14BFF onto the D70HD.

Can't beleive I'm the only one to say this but... buy the d60 and d70 as a pair and sell the 60 for a few hundred profit. Build yourself a d70 front just like the dude in the thread you posted did. He's saying 700 bucks with shipping for everything.

Tell the guy you can get a 14 bolt for 100 bucks and they are just as strong and he might give you the 70 for 100 bucks.

Yup, my thoughts exactly.

And WTF is this no nekkid option chit?

:deal:

And WTF is this no nekkid option chit?

My sincerest apologies, i dont know what i could have possibly been thinking. from hence forth all polls shall have some sort of nekked..... or batman related option.

As to the D70 front axle issue, i know putting the 1 tons in is more than just a "bolt on" swap, but i have neither the funds, nor the capacity to do any serious custom building. The only reason any of this is happening is because my front springs are dangerously de-arched, so i am looking at doing a 4in lift when i replace the springs, and given all the crap id have to disconnect anyway to install the springs and related hardware, i figured if i could find a deal on axles Id do em at the same time. well... I did. so i got em. even got a set of well worn 38x15.5x16.5 TSL radials. I know ive still gotta buy some new tires, but these will at least allow me to put some rubber under the truck till then. $750 for everything. not a bad deal to me. Still gotta get the 4in lift, debating between a "two spring two block" setup or a four spring setup, but ill cross that bridge when i get there.

Wound up all working out, I had a bunch of car parts id been dragging my feet on, this was my motivation for the extra spending cash. All said and done, i bought all the parts i wanted, and have more money in the bank than i would have if id just bought the D60 and not sold anything. Not to mention my mom was thrilled that i got rid of that crap........ look on her face when i came home with the truck packed to the gills with a D60, D70HD and four 38in swampers was priceless. :D

Maybe you should consider swapping 52's up front and a shackle flip for the rear?

Maybe you should consider swapping 52's up front and a shackle flip for the rear?

actually i would love to do just that. but i was informed that with the 52's up front i would have to do crossover steering, and a few other things before i can safely take it wheeling, that honestly can wait. The way i see it, if i do the 4in all around, save the 52in springs, enjoy it offroad till i put aside the money and parts to the other stuff necessary for the 52in swap. and then take off the 4in lift springs, do the 52in spring stuff, sell the front 4in lift springs to someone else, and they can then have the springs and do a shackle flip for a cheap 4in lift.

The one thing im trying to avoid is having a perpetually "on jackstands" wheeler. I try to assemble all the parts for one thing at a time, do it in a day or two, and have the truck up and running again in short order. Then start lining up the parts for the next mod while im enjoying the truck.
