Crazy vibs from my 406/700R4 bellhousing.

I did break the driver side motor mount one time but replaced it, maybe I should check it again.

Czar, maybe it could be the angle. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Let me know what you come up with.
 
I'm runnin a total of 8". ORD flip and block in the rear. My rear driveshaft angle is whats causin mine I think. My pinion is just a couple degrees shy of pointing straight in line with the shaft. I have heard that the slip yoke style shaft is common for causing those noises.

mine does this also and I have a np205 with a fixed yoke. now one thing I do know about mine is one of the bolts that connects the transmission to the transfercase is striped out. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
 
They do make a compound you can put in the hole and install the bolt and it will make new threads. I would try that, it's Permatex, "Stripped thread repair".
 
Every broken flexplate I have seen/experienced/witnessed, mad noise when the engine was put under load at lower RPM's, such as starting at the bottom of a hill and trying to climb it.
 
I have had this problem for about 3 years now, I am sure it is caused by my 4" blocks in the back. I don't have my t-case lowered which might help the problem. Anyways I am sure it is just the u-joint angles changing from the axle rap casued by the blocks when I let go and get on the gas.
My jerry rig cure for the last 20,000 miles on the same u-joints is to apply the brake and then let completely off the throttle. However I bet that eliminating the blocks and fixing the angles will cure your problem. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
 
Ok i measured tonight as best i could. Pinion is point up at 9*, shaft sits at 16* and the ouput seems to be pointing down at a 5* angle. so these angles dont seem to be bad enough to make noise, im wondering if maybe the slipyoke is worn enough to cause that noise while coasting.
