i know there is a few members on here who have done this id like to talk to em but i dont know who they are anyone help?

On a Blazer frame? Not that I can think of, but MTMike has a CC on a Sub frame I believe.

I think a K5 frame would be way too short unless you were going to link the rear and have the axle back some the tires would be under the back doors.

i know i would have to cut up the back im ok with that im just wondering what else i would be facing have to cut halfway back on the door, my friend is up for helping me with this he said something about use van parts

Here is a CC on a sub frame

Now imagine the back tires 23" forward from that point. I'm not saying it can't be done, but there wouldn't be much of a back seat area.

i understand this i just want to know what else i will be facing as far as frame issues making wheel wells out of the back doors i can handle

Body mounts I imagine, but other than body mods I can't think of anything off hand. From the front doors forward everything is the same. Fuel tank relocation might be in order, but not necessary.

When you build the wheel wells you'll most likely lose a ton of space needed for the rear seat - then what's the point?

Thats kinda what i'm thinking.

I'd start with another blazer tub, or a regular cab/bed combo. I'd rather graft the rear out of a cab and open it up into the bed, and join the 2 together than try and mess wiht doors. You are going to basically put a TON of time into making little doors that won't have use, or you'll weld htem shut. So why not start with a 2 door cab to begin with?

Ok.let's think about this. The rear wheels would be right in the middle of the rear door.Meaning you would need to modify them to fit around the new wheel wells you would need to fab into the back of the cab.Leavin no room for the seat to go all the way to the doors. So you are back to using a Blazer or Suburban rear seat in it.Losing seating.Personally I think it will look stupid. But do it and prove me wrong.

Would he be able to fit a rear Blazer bench seat in that spot? Or something like a Corbeau bench? I can almost visualize it fitting just right.

I was pondering on going this route if my Blazer windshield repair falls through, I probably will use the old rusty CC shell on my current truck after I complete the CC body swap. I'll have to wait and see though.

wow feel like i posted this over on pirate.

Just an odd idea. Thats all man. I'm not trying to flame.

A Blazer back seat may work, but a 3rd seat from a Sub might be better, or something like Corbeau's small BAJA back seat would be the easiest.

I still think as mentioned the doors will be the hardest part as essentially the wheel well will be right there.

It would look different thats for sure. Plans for behind the cab if you do this?

i have two ideas one just a tool box and spare tire mount the other which is odd i know is grafting on the back half of a suburban with barn doors not my idea my friends but im not against it basically ending up with a four door blazer though
just thinking about going this route cause i have a rust free crew cab that i can have for free, so even if i dont like it i can scrap it and just do something else

Could put the crew cab on the Blazer frame then 4 link the rear with a tube frame/bed to get the rear wheels back some.

You could run 56's flipped around in the rear and move the axle back 4" or 5" with a 0-rate.

I would opt for either of those to preserve the use of the back seat area :wink1:

my only problem with this is that everything back there has been replaced i just had a driveshaft built id be throwing alot of money i just spent 6 months ago away.

Aw hell, it's cheap to have it retubed longer anyway. That's the least of the problems with this project.

Theres someone on here with a crewcab on a shortbed frame.

I like the idea please do it. Link the rear so the tire sits exactly half way through the door. You'll figure the seat out once you tub it. Dont let them talk you out of it. Hell look at Xterra they are practically like that stock.

im undecided if this is the route i want to go or not its just the cab is nice and free, i was just looking to see if any other problems are going to arise besides the wheel wells besides the standard stuff of wiring and blah blah blah, wondering if the frame is going to be issue like i would have to cut the floor up or something cus then i would just throw a regular cab on and cut down a box
