crew cab on blazer frame

We're not trying to shoot your idea down, just point out some stuff you might not have thought of.

Really, unless you plan to legnthen the frame, the blazer tub seems to be about the most useful thing you can do. Unless you really want to make some half door thigns over teh wheel well, it doesn't seem to make sense. Also, if you are going to graft a burb back on...might make better sense to shorten a burb tub between teh back and 2nd doors. But it get it to fit, you are going to end up with a blazer legnth body.

We're just saying think it out. Theres lots of options on a longer frame....but on a blazer, nothign but a regular cab or a blazer cab seems to make very good use of the frame, or be worth its fab time.

linking the rear would have to be after i dont want to spend a crap ton right away already got alot into this truck the way it is only thing i havnt touched is the body

Then as said your gonna have to redrill your center pin to slide your rear axle back as far as possible and go from there.

Infact you'll probably want to roll around moving your shackle hanger back the extra 10in and moving the front hangar to match to stretch the base out as much as you can that way too. That should put you almost the same wheel base as a shortbed.

the other thing u gotta understand is my frame is rust free around here thats rare in cali its a different story alot easier to get stuff thats nice most of the trucks around here are so rusty its unbelievable thats why i would like to stick with it besides the fact i really dont want to swap over everything else to a different frame even though that might be easier, i enjoy messing with crap like this, if it doesnt work out i have no problem scrapping the cab and going a different direction

the difference between the wheel bases i believe is 10 inches

Doesn't the Blazer frame kick upwards under the rear seat? That would cause a mounting issue. The Sub frame was flat all the way to the back of my cab. Anybody got a picture of a Blazer frame?

this is what i wanted to know mine does which would create more problems than i think i care to deal with unless like a 3 in body lift on the front mounts would take care of the issue

thanks alot, this is what i wanted to know about more or less anyone know what the kick up in the frame is?

mtmike is the man with crew cab short bed.

he has 52" front with axle forward .

has 56" rear with axle moved to the rear .

had to cut and channel the rear floor pan under the rear seat. this was to clear the sb frame rails.

then he cut and choped the box to make somthing of a box.

or do like i did . http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=245582

After seeing that truck, I want to find a single cab long bed, and put a crew cab on it, then chop the bed to fit the rest. It would be the best thing ever. Or you could use a sub frame for the crew cab and super short bed, too. It would probably be much less fab work with a sub frame for the cab, but the bed would be fabbed like a mofo.

well after going out there its not as clean as i was told, so i guess i will start looking for a clean regular cab, how much would i have to cut out of a short bed to fit on the back?
