I have went through the first 200 posts and corrected all the pics. I'll keep working on it.

How did the caddy do on the tow job? What kind of mileage?

It seemed I had some kind of mechanical issue all the way out so I never really had a good opportunity to see how it would do. When it was running right we were in the higher elevations. The Cadillac is hungry for o2 and didn't appreciate the altitude much. On the way back I was able to get it up to 70ish in overdrive across the flat lands of nebraska pretty easily. That's plenty fast for that load and doing it around 2000 rpm.

I'll be going to a slightly lower gear next spring. I think 4.88's will help quite a bit (4.10's currently.)

So, I'm about to begin construction on some new steel wheels for the rear of the crew cab. I think I'll have them powder coated this go round. The rattle bomb finish didn't hold up so well last go round. Does anybody have any pictures of silver powder coat or the "aluminum" looking powder coat finish?

Ill give Jim a call and see if hes powercoated anything that color lately. Hes the one that did my bumper and it turned out great.

New radiator acquired as well as some kingpin rebuild kits for the HP60 going in the front.

Hopefully more to come soon.

very cool, more parts and construction is a good thing. Doing anything more with the clutch rod/slave cyl, or its line?

Yep, plan for now is to get the new rad in and the batteries dropped back in place so its up and running again. Then when I get the dash built and wired up i'm gona go after a full rewire along with a refit of the clutch pedal and all of that biz while the old dash is out. That's the plan anyway.

:waytogo: sounds like a cool update.

Wiring....:doah:gives me the shakes.

The crew is badass Kert. So what mileage did you get to/from Moab?

I think it was 7ish on average over the whole trip. I think with some deeper gears I can bring that up.

Friend of mine swears by a air damn on the front of the gooseneck as a means to increase the mileage on long trips. Might have to try that.

I have a good friend who owns a truck body shop that put one of those 80ish type wings on the roof, took him a couple trips but it gained him over 1mpg with his big gooseneck on it. He made it adjustable, first 2 trip he took with it he lost 1 mpg but once it was adjusted it worked well.
