Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

What rig are you bringing down for the memorial day run?

I'll probably be there and if I do I'm definitely gonna drag Drey with me if he doesn't roll with you and Brett.

I'm gona try and get the 79 K20 ready. It's almost there. Need to get a heater box on, Front shocks and get some driveline work finished and that's about it.

I'm going to be working on a similar project from what i can tell from reading...any chance of seeing some of the dually setup pix?

I'll have to get some pictures reloaded.

Setup motor is mounted as well as the tranny! And only a year since the last update! HA!!!

Let's see what else has been done in the last year. Pathetically enough, not much. Trans was rebuilt and I've stock piled a few parts for the build.

Ended up installing a TH400 and a divorced 205 is going in. The permanent Caddy should be going in very soon. Only thing left preventing that is the big block header modification.

Why all the red "X"es?

I remember this build very well. Would love to view the pics again.

Sorry for the hi jack Kert

You caddy guys out there,

Headers! I've made a set for a 500 caddy from scratch and did the big block header rework. To tell ya the truth, I'm not sure which is more difficult.

The Chevy big block headers are really not that close to fitting a cadillac flange. Kinda works like this,

You have to remove the Chevy flange. Put on a cadillac flange. Line up one port and tack. Force the second port a bit and tack. Force the third port alot or cut off the tube and refit, the tack. Cut the fourth tube off and modify to get it to fit and tack. There is no way to fudge the fourth tube into the flange. It is just plain to far off.

Fit it to the block and start working the angle to get it to clear the frame and go from there.

The crewcab is getting the reworked Chevy headers. The drivers side was pretty quick and worked fairly well. The passenger side was terrible! By the time the header cleared the frame, the collector was pointed at the tranny pan!

Just a heads up and some info if you want to go this route. I was really close to going back to manifolds.

ttt for pics or updates

Well, here's how things sit. Motor is finished and ready to go in. T case is finally mounted. Interior is 90% finished and I got to listen to my stereo for just a few minutes last night. It sounds pretty awesome. I've never been one to spend much on a stereo so this one is fairly expensive compared to anything else I've had.

It consists of 4-3 way sony door speakers, 2 - 8" kicker subs, a sony xplod 600 watt amp for the subs and a sony CD head unit. Head unit has all the little bells and whistles but the only one I was interested in was the aux. input for Ipod or laptop connection.

A couple of components have been shot with some paint but they won't be back in my posession until Thursday. We're doing a few pieces at a time until all the smaller components are done. Then the box will be shot and finally the cab.

Fuel tank is almost done at this point. Don't really need it until the box is painted and lined. I'll have the saddle brackets for the tanks done and ready to go though.

Sunday, I'll be pulling the mock up motor back out and finishing any prep work in the engine bay before we stick the 513 back in the hole.

After that the priority will be drive shafts and she's really close to drivable!!! I can't wait. Getting to that exciting point.

I'll see if I can get some photos up this weekend. Thanks for the bump!!! I was just about to go searchin' for the thread:wink1: .
