Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

I've ran 2 of them and they are freakin' sweet! Had a 650 Speed Demon on our 383 Cuda and a 625 Road Demon on the Blazer before I got serious into rock crawlin. IMO the quality is obvious from the moment you pull out of the box. Engine dyno testers love them because they are so consistent, unlike Holley's.

Very nice Kert! You'll love the Demon! :waytogo:

That's cool. Good to hear some positive personal experience. I know of one other guy that has one on his tow rig and he likes his. It runs like a maniac.

This is an 850 vac. sec. It's friggin' huge when you look down the bores. There are some really cool options on these things. Sight glass float bowl windows, 4 corner idle adjustment to name a few. I'm looking forward to getting this thing started up and running.

How did it do when you got twisty? Any slosh or flooding in the off camber stuff? Is it simular* to a Holley double pumper?

This is on my crew cab which is still under construction. I don't think they'd be the best choice off road as they are inherently more like a holley. Supposed to be a lot better but as far as angles i don't think they'd be any different.

It ran fine until it was climbing and bouncing. It would start stuttering and hesitating. I figure it was fuel slosh from the bowl vents. Actually never had a problem in any other circumstance. I still swapped it out because being able to make a climb with without the engine coughing and sputtering is pretty important.

It ran great on the pavement. The make a Demon Trucker carb, but they are even more expensive than an already pricey carb.

From what I've heard the whole reason Holley came out with the Avenger series carb was to gain back ground they were loosing to the Demon. :dunno:

Thats what I figured, I was anti holley for years then they came out with that off road avenger so I thought Id at least try it. Second chances and all that. Turned out I was justified being biased against them. Big waste of time, but I sold it to a friend who put it on his mustang, so I didnt loose any money. I had that carb on my truck, for a grand total of 5 hours. :haha:

Well, it's been a while so hard to say what has been accomplished.

Tail gate is currently at the body shop getting colored. I filled the void on the outside and relocated the handle to the inside and added the one ton running lights.

Headers are finally on the engine. What a chore that was. Modifiied Chevy big block headers. I truly feel the headers would have been easier to build from scratch.

High torque mini starter is on. Used a chevy model that as close but had to have Stomper machine a spacer for me on the CNC.

Console base is in place and the sides are mocked up. Hope to be pulling that out and finishing it up very soon. Once the console is finished, t case shifters can be done and then onto the rest of the exhaust system.

Exhaust is the only thing preventing a break in run on the engine. Just can't stand break them in with open headers..... UGGG>

once the console is finished and I get the tailgate back, i'll snap a few shots and get them posted up.

Console sides are attached to the base plate as well as the rear panel. Complete with 110 v outlet for the back seat.

Air pressure gauge showed up today. Still waiting for one gauge. Can't remember what it is though...:haha:

here are some shots of the console.

My DA is now a SA for some reason so hence the deep swirls. That'll buff right out though.

You'll have to excuse the finger print tape holding the control panel in place. Only thing I could come up with for getting Mikeydo5's fingerprints for planting at the crime scene!:haha:

Where did you get the white face gauges for the spedo, and stuff?

Thanks
Tom

they are overlays.

Muddermilita, you have something headed for you. Probably have it tomorrow.

cool looking console Kert, is it Aluminum or steel?

Did you have any problem with cracking while bending it?

no problems bending. I got a couple spots where the aluminum is butt welded and then ground smooth that I need to go back a "V" a little better and crank up the heat a little more.

It's a softer aluminum too. That probably helps with the bending.
