Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

Kert,

You've got some pretty awesome talent.. love the lap top mount, much better construction than I've seen in commercial stuff.

The t-case shifting is sweet. To high tech for my trail rig, but nice. You didn't consider doing a air shifted setup?

MikeyD05 and I talked about it but seems like a valving nightmare. This way seemed fairly clean and straight forward and if I ever get a pair of good harnesses, I"ll be set. Otherwise I'll go back to momentary buttons and be done with it.

Johnathon, Thanks for the compliments! Laptop mount worked out pretty good. By the time the rig is done, I'll just about be do for another used laptop and this one can go in the rig permanently.

Box is coming back to the shop tomorrow! Woot!

Little hitch work today. Not finished yet but you'll get an idea what's going on.

Wow, impressive quality. Are you going to rig up something so that you can pull the pin from the fender well?

Yep, in the close up photo on the inside, the bushings will keep the pin aligned and the small tab will be where the spring that keeps the pin pulled in will attach to the hitch.

So, you'll have to pull the pin against the spring pressure and lock it open to turn the ball over and then release the pin so the spring will reengage it into the ball.

 DAMN nice, you going to be selling that GN hitch setup?

Possibly. Have to see how it all comes together in the end.

So far, its all designed to sit under the bed when not in use. I want to finish with a cover for the hole in the bed. Probably made out of another chunk of bed floor.

sorry, newb question here, but what's the value in having a ball hitch in the bed? do goose necks pull from those? i thought they were all more like the hitches on big rigs.

There are certain types of goose necks that pull that way. It eliminates the space taken up by the standard fifth wheel hitch in a bed. My Dad had that type of setup in his 02 Dodge, then decided on a different solution for the 04. He found that even with the cover over the ball, it would still collect all the dirt and debris. He wouldn't take my suggestion of using a piece of thick magnetic sheet to cover it.

Most fifth wheel hitches can be converted to use this design, it only take an extended collar properly attached to the original hitch.

It's been a long time coming but the cab will be at the body shop this week.

Spent a couple hours this evening digging the old girl out of the corner and getting it ready to go.

I'm so looking forward to this.

I'd buy that hitch setup if you started aking them ........ at least 2

Droped the fat girl off at the body shop yesterday morning:haha::haha:
