So, I took a couple of loads to the dump...

And it weighed in around 6250 lbs... It was way off using the single axle scale on Mountain HWY...

This weight is with me and both boys in the truck... 7320 on the way in and 6540 on the way out... I'm about 190, oldest boy is 130, and youngest is 80...

The second load was just my and the oldest boy... 7280 going in and 6480 leaving...

Hmm, mine must weigh a few hundred more, I'm guessing. Basically the same, except for dually and '79. The body in '81-up is supposed to weigh something like 100 pounds less than the earlier models.

I was expecting it to weigh a bit more...

If I lost the rack, brush guard and went back to stock tires it would be under 6K...:eek1:

I am pretty sure mine was 6600 last time with no fuel or people in it.

I think a good cab racks can be a good compensation here, i guess. I also think that having some good cab weight would definitely work well on your accord to really make things possible on that one. In that way, you would be able to really have it done well on your vehicle.

i got rid of the top already. tailgate is next. the front winch bumper is gone. rear bumper is leaving. all the little stuff that isnt used is coming off.

i have a new winch in the works. its lighter than the 8274. it will just be mounted between the rails. no real bumper. there will be a rear bumper, but it will be as small and light as possible.

all the brackets under the truck are coming off. there are atleast 8 i can think of that i dont need. im most likely going single exhaust with the new engine

thats where im stating. we will see what that gets me. here is it currently

Mine was 4670 with no top, basically stock

5200 on 1 tons and 37's, steel wheels, Warn 8274, soft top

4280 as of a couple weeks ago, that's with an all iron SBC, doubler, 1 tons, steel wheels, Warn 8274, 42" IROKs, etc.

There is a LOT of weight in sheet metal, I bet I took nearly 1500 lbs to the scrap yard and I still have probably 100 lbs in skins on it.

You have a picture of where your rig is at now? I'm curious to see what you did to lose that much weight.

I figured you had to take a lot off. With the skins it at least it looks like a blazer.

My 79 K5 with wontons, full cage(front bumper to back bumper), 38.5s, 350, t400, np205, 8274, loaded with tools, both propane tanks and a massive metal roof weighed in at 5300...

This should give you an idea of what I cut off and put back on...:D

Our local scale must be out of whack. All my junk weighs about a grand more than comparable rigs on here.
