Hey guys I just started my frame off restoration on my srw 1 ton crewcab. Tomorrow I am dropping off the frame to get sand blasted and plan on using a primer sealer on the freshly blasted frame. Then I thought about spraying on 2 coats of rust bullet ontop off the sealer. Should spray on ryno liner ontop off the frame for protection or am I going overboard. I also thought of spraying rust bullet and then ryno liner on the cab floor and under the truck bed for protection. My goal is to protect the body from rust coming back since this truck will get used daily and all year round through the winters of new england with the salted roads. opinions are wanted. thanks

im not sure there ever is a OVERBOARD here at ColoradoK5. if it was me and i had the extra dollars i would coat everything with the rust bullet and the liner over that!!!!
seeing i am in Michigan i know what you mean about the salted roads, i think i still have rust in my eyes from working on my 87 today. im not doing a frame off, but a big gut and cut on mine and some new sheetmetal in place on my K5 and i plan on putting a liner on it. just to slow the Salt eater down some!!! :)

I am concerned if I build up the layers to thick that is will be more acceptable at cracking and chipping. Anyone agree with this

too many mils of any product makes it susceptible to cracking... moreso with some coatings than others...

my opinion is if anyone is going thru the trouble of blasting, NOT using an appropriate finishing system is stupid, and pretty hack... 99% of the time, the person thinks there doing a killer job.. rusty frame, sure slather on the RB, raw steel? do it right....

With the rust gone i think a good self etching primer would work great as a base. If I make it that far I will blast, self etching primer, then rust bullet to seal it in there. Thats just me though, all that is overkill.
