crewcab project

I don't know what year it is... BUT... I do believe that they NEVER made a crew cab in the 1st gen... is that true 1st Gen Guru's?

That is correct, there were a couple companies doing them after the factory for forest service and mining companies, but none came that way from the factory.

Yukon Jack - you beat me to that posting on 67-72...

Here are some more pics of that Crewcab - courtesy of Yukon Jack's website...

i will be taking the long bed and cutting about 20 inches from the front of the bed, and pretty much bobbing the rear.

Why would you use a long bed, just to cut the front off?Just get a short bed and it will look alot better ,I seen a long bed cut down and it didn't look that great.

that truck is awesome, i read every page of that thread. theres only two things wrong there. no straight axle and no stock interior. those flames are kind of gross. and so is that suspension

i really want to change the bed alot even over a stock short bed. it will look pretty much like a bobbed short bed, and by doing this i wont have to extend my frame in the middle mabey a few inches at the end. just want it to have a totaly different looking bed, but when the whole truck is done have alot of stock features. like stock buckets and bench and all done in stock style parts. not shaving anything and run stock trim outside. just want a nice big lift, about 10 inches and 39 or 40,s. and i think im going to try and get ahold of a 6 speed auto from a new gm truck to run behind my turbo 502. it will need all the help it can on mpg.

well i got my 454 and a 4l80e, as well as some front spring hangers and core supports so i can run some 56" rear springs to run up front. i think i will use 6" springs to get about 10". just need to save up some dollars to get the 454 turned into a 502.

well i went and dropped off the 454, and wow the price to do a stroker is alot more than i thought. so its staying a 454 but its gettting the compression bumped up and forged pistons some roller parts and a good cam as well as multiport injection. they told me i should have around 435hp and 565tq. that sounds good enough for me, now im liking it.

Hopefully mine dont look too bad if it does.. ill go flatbed...
my summer plans are a crew cab on my frame and that will put the rear doors to approximately the rear tires... so I may have to move my rear axle back an inch... cut the bed then im even thinking of trimming the frame from the back and bringing the tailgate in a foot too... we will see....
