Crews and worthy rigs Around the country

There nice but as said bit heavy . Tailgate off box to use it . Longer bed bolts to secure it down . Stuff gets over sides and under it in box and unless you run big rubber flap across the back it gets all over the tail and bumper . . Otherwise there great (y)

Anyone need a minty but gutless 6.2L crew cab for way too much money?

That's a nice truck, although I feel the same way about the old square body diesel, my father had an 84 K20 diesel for a short time, that thing wouldn't get out of it's own way. It pretty much needed a turbo to be sufficient if you ask me. Is that the way they all felt? It seemed like it was running fine, just gutless.

Yeah it was never meant to pull or race, just get from A to B in very little fuel consumption

Eh, geared right they weren’t bad. No worse than a smog era carb’d 350.

Big Ugly was a M1008 with 4.56’s and 36’s and then 38’s. Moved along fine but not a powerhouse.

My ‘89 K5 had 3.73’s and did pretty well too. I swapped a J code (3/4 ton and up non-emissions) intake manifold onto it which helped.

They got out of their own way but weren’t winning races and also rattled and clanked like only a Detroit diesel can.

That said now…done with diesels. Too expensive to own and operate now.

I like my 6.2L K5. It's not any worse than a small block I feel, and I get like 17 mpg with 35s and 4:10 gears. Plus it's mechanical fuel injection without all the electronics that go with swapping fuel injection to a gasser. I would not buy one to tow with ever.

All 6.2 diesels need to be swapped to a 6.0 ls.

Naw... I like the 6.2... even though I no longer own one lol.
