I feel that same way, I work my ass off and can't ever get ahead/extra money for anything and other people blow money like it's going out of style. Must be those of us who actually labor for our money are doing it wrong.Jeez. Am I out of touch with reality here? Maybe money is easier to get for some people.
i think its the auction environment. Having purchased my toyota from BaT back in ‘17 before it was cool, BaT is very easy to use (anyone can create an account and bid) and can reach a much broader group than say a mecum. The uniqueness to get real time feedback to questions from sellers as well as the peanut gallery boosting how nice or unique a vehicle is doesnt happen at mecum and other auction houses. When you have 2 people that really want something, it generally sells way above what the market says it should be.Jeez. Am I out of touch with reality here? Tell us something we don't know...So I guess maybe I'm just a cheap azz or something lol
Just to keep this all together, it sold at mecum again in Jan ‘23 for $83.6k, and now 3 months later on BaT. We’ll see if thibgs get crazy.i think its the auction environment. I’ve noticed that squares (aside from crazy builds like ringbrothers) sell for less at mecum vs comparable square on BaT.
I’ll be curious to see what this one sells for. It has a mecum keychain (can see in ignition), will have to try to dig up what it sold for previously at mecum and see where it ends up.
