The otherday I noticed my truck is sitting VERY crooked, leaning to the right. I looked at it straight on, lined up the spring eyes with the tierod and the passenger side is quite a bit lower then the drivers. If you look at the springs, the right one looks flatter. What could cause this? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif The shackle is straight up and down, the axle is straight. Could a spring be broken? Heres some pics. What do you guys think? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

That's not what I'm laughing at. I'm laughing at the fact there's no axle shafts, no drive shafts but ya have a custom front axle.............

It's one of those sick humor things.... /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

make a quick hard right turn, and stop at the end of the turn before straightening the rig, and see if it leans the other way. it most likely will without sway bars.

if you think it is a spring problem, take a look at the rear ones as well. id look at the shakle bolts and for broken leafs.

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

Mine leans as well. With no sway bar, there is nothing to try to keep the sides even. If I fill the drivers side tank and not the other, it'll lean to the drivers side. If I fill the passenger side tank and not the other one, it'll lean to the passenger side. Or if I have an uneven load in the back for a while it'll do the same. Is your passenger large?? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

Mine leans too. So did my old leaf sprung toyota, especially after i put new springs in it.

If your springs are new, or not broken in, it will take them a while to settle, and they usually do it one side at a time. At one point my old toy would lean as much as 2" to one side unil the springs got good and broken in.

Its fine, i wouldnt worry about it.

Mine does it too. Nice 2wd blazer. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

probably wind resistance from the huge center section wore a spring out

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

Straighten your wheels out, it looks like they are turned to the left, and your driveway doesn't look very level to begin with. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

It is caused by uneven spring rates. You can take them to a spring shop and have both the springs rate matched. My blazer does the same thing but only it leans to the driver side, and before anyone says that i'm a fat ass, well maybe i am but not that much. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

I appreciate all your input. The only thing I see differrent with my truck and most of yours is, I dont have flexy springs, tires straight didn't help it, no one rides in the passenger seat, there not new, its never done this before, the driveway is level, left to right, just not level fron tot back. I just looked at it again, it doesnt look that bad in the pics, its a lot worse in person. Maybe I did too many wheelies and they got tired.

Oh, and for the no axleshafts and driveshaft, im just trying to finish school, no more money into the blazer. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Nice 14 bolt front axleless axle /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

Hey, lay off Gregory people. I think his front 14B axle is a pretty darned cool creation and bet it will work well. He hasn't finished it because of the fact of how expensive it is for custom stuff like that. I bet that guy with the cummins powered Burb in TTC would have liked it, he blew the crap out of that front 60. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Greg, go dual shocks if you haven't already....maybe that will help it a little. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Do you have any bushings or something worn out?

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

I'm not giving him sh!t about it, I think its cool /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

Still has the same weak dana 60 shafts that will blow long before the ring gear...

Re: Crooked truck.. Broken spring or what?!?!? PICS

No all the bushings are fine. I'll drive it some more to see what happens, and if its still like this, Ill look at the springs a little closer. (didn't see any cracks)

How do you figure? The outers? If 35 spline is weak, then I suppose your right, but not the inners. I already had a post about this. No more hijacks.

Even the 35 spline shafts will fail before the Dana 60 ring/pinion usually.
