Cruise and wiper problems

When I bought my blazer the previous owner told me the cruise and wipers weren't working. He had bypassed the switch so I had wipers and gave me a new signal stalk he had bought, but had not the time to put in. As I have installed this to no avail, what else could be wrong with it? I didn't really get a chance to look at it before I left(truck is at my buddies house 1 1/2 hours from here), but he may have unplugged/spliced/hacked the harness from the wiper module to run the wipers. I haven't driven it yet to see if the cruise is working.

Cruise is fairly simple, find out if it works first, then we'll take it from there.

If the harness is hacked, you might as well fix it by soldering/shrink wrapping. Bad or rotted connections will cause untold grief and make diagnosis painful.
