do you know what your starter looks like? if you do its thr cover thing that kinda go's around the cone of the starter and the flywheel

4 smaller screw type bolts, u already got it so goahead n get ure hands dirty it slide down with ease. its simple and no worry project, good place to start(no pun intended)

Wow, I must be confused. the thing I was considering taking off has like 6 or 8 bolts and a little bitty hole on the bottom of it. its right in front of the tranny pan.... is this not the dust cover?

I am begging yall..... please tell me what the dust cove is. I have gotten mixed messages on this forum about what it is. could someone Please post a picture of a flywheel dust cover??? I know someone can explain to me what it is..........

Thats the dust cover. A thin cover over the bottom of the bell housing. Remember to unhook the coil wire when you bump-over your motor for the inspection of your flywheel teeth, you do not want the motor to start or you will lose your place.
