Worth anything? I was thinking about getting it for "my stock"

lots of guys from time to time want them . looks fairly straight also kind of rare .

easy to bolt on civi bumpers also . 81-up style.

fyi that yard is a death trap .

3 rim's for stands ....... no no no .

need 4 of them per vehicle .

that's like a tripod you would kick a leg out of and have it drop .

I'm interested in the clevis mounts sticking out of the bumpers. Any idea what they'd cost?

And yeah, that brush guard is pretty neat, IMO.

The correct answer is to just grab the whole bumper/brush guard/clevis mount setup all at once.

Looks like tow hooks are 3 bucks a pop. 3 dollars gate admission. Plus the ride. But its NHRA
Weekend in Denver and I have two days of sun and nitromethane, so I am not sure when I can get back there to grab them.

I have no problem pulling parts for guys but I am short on time this weekend and this week. I will try my best to help everyone out.

No hurry at all.

Are the blackout lights still present?

This really is crying out for someone to buy the bumper & brush guard and then split off the little pieces...

What are the blackout lights? I really no nothing of the cucvs, isn't it something they had for running at night? Where would those be at? Grill?

Small colored led blocks at the outside edge of the bumpers (visible in your pictures). The rear ones are wide with 2 red leds, the fronts are narrow with one yellow and one orange led. There is also a small headlight in the grill that is shielded so it only shines at the ground right in front of the truck. They are quite inconspicuous when running, but they allow you to locate the vehicle in the dark and to just barely see what's ahead of you. Without being visible to others.

Doesn't really have practical civilian use, but I would like to keep my M1009 original, and one of my lights has failed. So I'm interested in the set.

Aside from shipping concerns, I'd probably take the whole front bumper/guard setup if it wasn't too expensive (in addition to the rear lights and mounts). But I don't think it's worth shipping, and I'm not planning to head out to CO until next summer. :dunno:

Upon looking at my phone pics. ( much better resolution) the lights in the front bumper are gone. The rear has one out of two. And the light in the grill you speak of is gone.

Honesty if I have to pull the brush guard I would keep it for myself as I like those. The bumpers and tow hooks I could care less about as i would rather build tow hooks that are solid and mounted better. And my big stepper will get custom built bumpers and will use that area of the frame for mounts.
I don't have a problem pulling the bumpers.

One thing I found odd is that someone pulled both axle covers. But didn't take anything? Did some cucv's have lockers or something?

Anything else on these that would be worth it to rob? I see it has a huge battle tray. I might take that. For 24V batt setup?

so many people think the blazers and some even trucks got full lockers front and rear . :haha:

rear got gov-loc if blazer / Detroit if truck .

front in blazer didn't get any thing / truck open / or light duty trac-loc unit depending on truck model # :thumb:

Hmm...the pickup CUCV variants (M1008, M1028, etc) had 4.56:1 1-ton axles with a Detroit in the rear. Those are desirable to many. But the blazers came with 3.08 10-bolts (G80 in the rear). Not nearly as wanted. Maybe someone forgot what he was looking at. Or maybe he opened it up and discovered a fragmenting G80 carrier. :dunno:

The truck should be set up for dual batteries on the passenger side. The batteries sit close together and are in series for starting, glow plug controller, and whatever military equipment was previously installed. Everything else runs like a stripped-down stock 12-volt truck with 2 extra switches and an ammeter. A lot of folks swap starter and GP controller to stock 12-volt and just enjoy having a backup alternator.

As far as things to rob, there's not much to these trucks. They were stripped-down models (very bare interior) with few desirable features (aside from being inexplicably awesome, of course ). Standard military oddities include that circular number plate on the grill and a pair of M16 holders behind the driver seat. There would have been a 24V jumping receptacle on the passenger side of the grill, but that appears to be gone. The second alternator is a ground-isolated unit, if that has any value for you. :dunno:

And that about sums up the oddities, aside from standard diesel stuff.

I would take the bumpers and tow hook thingies, but I don't feel like shipping a bumper.
