Cummins conversion

Ok guys, I know were all Chevy men, I hope were also openminded enough to accept that a Cummins in a classic Chevy isn't such a bad thing either. I was watching the Cummins conversion they did on Trucks on the powerblock, using the Clubcab long box dodge diesel , and dropping a crewcab short box ford body onto it. I'd like to to try the same thing but using a Chevy body . Anybody have any ideas of what body style might work? just fishing right now, any ideas would be greatly appreciated... just dont shoot me for asking . I happen to have a clubcab dodge 2500 diesel shortbox sitting out in my back yard right now. would like to keep the drivetrain and everything on it, and drop a classic chev body onto it somehow, if possible . the wheel base is 138.7". Think it would be easier just to swap the drivetrain to your truck than swap the body...

that's what I figured to . Like I said, I saw it done with a ford, was just curious about doing it with a chev body.

If I had their tools/garage/budget, probly do it that way too. They make everything look easy...dirty bastages.....

what year and wheel base of chevy truck ? is it for wheelen , tow rig ?what year is the dodge truck ?

it's easier to swap the engine and trans and harness into your truck.

definately less work to swap the drivetrain into the desired truck. where in Alberta are you?

thanks for the input guys. I figured it would be a job and a half , I guess more or less I was just curious if it could be done. And to answer the above question the truck is a 99 24 valve with a 5speed clubcab shortbox . And I'm in the lethbridge area in southern alberta. The engine is for sale if you know anybody in alberta looking . It can be heard running.

A 12 valve cummins is a lot less work for swapping ,the sick is simple too, but that year of dodge has a left hand side diff . You could put in a ford axle and run all dodge stuff . The 24 valve swap will need the factory dodge ECM for the engine .
