cummins ? ok here???

Just need to know at what temp does my cooling fan turn on.

She overheated pulling 3000lbs

Tryin to diagnose a thermostat or fan problem.

1998 dodge 2500 with 24 valve cummins.

I know the thermostat on 12valves are 180degree I think the 24Valves are 190degree, I'd bet cooling fan runs +10-15 degrees

viscouse fan clutch, maybe not locking up at all anymore. maybe rad is dirty/ maybe stat stuck. you can get various temps on the stats, pull it and look at it to know for sure.

test the stat in a pot of water on the stove. put a thermometer in the water. turn on stove. view the temp that it actually opens at. maybe need a cooling system acid flush and a rad cleaning.
