D44 crush sleeve eliminator kit

Only one I can find that every sells is for a JK. Yokon says it won't fit my 77 d44. I am thinking they are lazy and haven't bothered to check and just say no.

Any one know either way

A crush sleeve? Haven't got the carrier or pinion out yet, so maybe I don't remember to good anymore

My axle guy said only the aluminum d44s use the sleeve, the other 99% do not

I agree, our generation of 44’s and 60’s did not use crush sleeves.

Add in another vote of confidence on no crush sleeves on Dana stuff on our squares - back then the good engineering team at Dana/Spicer cared enough about quality to override speed of assembly ; damn bean counters eventually got their way.

I finally found an exploded view diagram that wasn't jeep. What pita that was. Anyway showed preload shims, so no crush sleeve.

Did find two front wheel bearing seals in my stash.
