I've been looking for a D60 front for almost a year now and haven't found the right one in my price range. A local guy posted on one of our websites that he had 2 Chebby D60 fronts for sale, advertised as 4.10 open and he said they needed going through. I went over there and the axle looked alright and I've been looking for so long I decided to take a shot and give him a low ball offer. $$$$$650 SOLD I brought it home opened it up and it's got 4.56 w/welded spiders and turns smooth as silk. New locking hubs, X-over and I'm golden :D :D :D :D Just had to share my good fortune with the CK5 crew :D Pics coming soon

I'm 100 miles south of ATL.. you ever head down this way much?

Yeah, we're planning a trip to Tellico/Grayrock/WITC (haven't decided which one) the 7/8 of OCT if you wanna tag along.

My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts, when I popped the diff cover and started jumping up and down she thought I'd lost it :D :D Women just don't get it ;)

Thats sweet my 60 ended up costing me about 500 bucks, worth of parts, That was the only way I could get it

yea your right, I got it for free and made $200 :p:
I think I know what you're thinking is based on, however, if you would have gotten it for free... you would have it, and ALL the money from the others in hand. ;)

Know what I mean, Vern .. :D

Still anytime you can get one, and sell the other stuff .. it's "like" getting it for free, or rather a trade. :thumb:

I got mine for $150 from the junkyard. It's a '78 Dodge unit, 4.10's, open, external drive flanges.

I even talked the guy down from $200, but I didn't have the cajones to try for cheaper. Probably could have, but oh well. He didn't know what it was.

I noticed there are a ton of dana 60's on ebay these days all in the NE it seems. Everytime I see something at an ok price its all the way over there :doah:

Im kind of laughin inside me about this D60-hysteria, it is possible to be a little original. Maybe pick something not everybody else have.. :haha:

Let the fun begin, I started pulling the outers this morning. Prolly gonna need new wheel bearings and races etc... gotta get the rotors out to be turned also. A Couple of pics of the 60 along with my junk are here, If you listen closely you can hear my 10 bolt screaming from the 40's :D ....
