Which one is stronger? I have a Power Lock that could be installed up front, or should I go with a Lock Right?

If I do not use the P/L up front, that axle will prolly find it's way into the DD. (front/rear 60's)

Mostly mud application, maybe a feww rocky trails thrown in. I need to buy new gears for the 60 as I have found a 5.13 geared 14FF :woot:

I'd say that by comparing the 2, the powerlock carrier is actually stronger than the stock open carrier (which the lockright would go in).
However, I have not heard of too many actual carriers breaking.

Unless you meant traction wise, the lockright is actually an auto locker and the powerlock is a clutch posi.

Stronger = to resist breaking....

A P/L can be set up pretty tight. Just trying to decide on whether to use it in a front or rear application....

Probably less wear/tear and shock loading/unloading on the u-joints & axle shafts with the Powr-Lock. That would be one reason to use in the front.

Also, drive flanges or lockouts? I would assume flanges are okay with the Powr-Lock... but with a Lock-Right? :thinking:

Good point....

It has lockouts now, but never thought about that....

But flanges in a DD = less fuel mileage since everything up front is always spinning.

The one getting the front 60 is retired from DD useage. The P/L would be cool in the rear 60 of the DD, just trying to decide if it should go into the front of the play truck or not....

I'd definetally put a locker in the front of a play rig. PL in the rear of a DD doesn't sound like a bad idea at all.
