Re: DAMN IT RENE!!!!!!!

I plan to make a set of perches like Glenn (depdog) did so reuse is not an issue! Maybe I'll just have fun with my new cutting torch!!!

Re: DAMN IT RENE!!!!!!!

I don't know about an Oxy-Acety torch, maybe a Plasma Cutter

The oxy-acety it a little hard to control (as in the flames will splash everywhere when it hits the perch and may be harder to see) and you might just torch through the housing if you're not careful. But I did use the oxy-acety to remove the shock mounts.

I have an air cutoff wheel that rotates at 24,000rpm. I didn't use that though, b/c I don't think my A/C is strong enough for that tool to reach max. So, I just used my 4.5" electric grinder. It spins 10,000rpm. And I bought a few cut off wheels for the grinder. It's exactly like the ones for the cutoff tool, except it's 4.5" size.

Re: DAMN IT RENE!!!!!!!

The Blue universal wrench would make it REAL easy. Proably 5 minutes and both purches would be off without beating on them.
Well I may get to do this all over again this weekend. Swaping axles out to get my 4.11 and detroit!!!! YEeee Haaaa! I'm a little low in the rear so I'm going to slap a set of 2 inch blocks with a 4deg wedge in them and see how that works. If I don't like it I'll have to cut and reweld the purches to get my angle right.
Dollar will finnaly Be big very soon. Will be Depdog size. Damn little 32's are about to be off once and for all.
Anybody want to buy a set of well broke in BFG MT 32's? Between 60-80% tread left on them depending on what tire (a couple have had bad encounters with and they lost and had to be replaced) except where I have ripped a few lugs off

Re: DAMN IT RENE!!!!!!!

I'd use an Arc-air gouger and have em off clean in a few minutes each...but you need a damn big welding machine for that.

The hot wrench is another option but its easy to gouge into the axle tube when removing the perches...which would be bad...
