Damn squirrels...

My buddy down in FL had his harness under the dash of his Jeep chewed up by squirrels.

It's been said by the Turtleman that there is a certain coating on hoses and wires that attract rodents to chew on them.

Yeah, my sister was over the other day and when she saw the .22 rifle on top of the dining room cabinets she chuckled: "What do you have wild creatures that go running by during dinner?" To which I replied "No, not anymore..."

Which isn't 100% true, because 2 little foxes moved into the last woodchuck hole.

What else we've done to get rid of the neighbors woodchuck was to use flybait. Once they eat this, they can only make it like 10 feet and they're done. But you have to be clever in where you place it or you'll find any kind of critter dead. You certainly can't put it where children play.

I wonder how it'd work to leave an open dish of antifreeze under the hood.

I've poisoned a couple of annoying racoons with dog food laced with antifreeze and rat poison. You have to be real careful though, because cats and dogs will get into it also. Fortunately people around my neighborhood don't let their pets wander.

I had a friend try to "feed" rodents (that were chewing there way into his garage). He went to the local gas station, bought super XXX coolant, left it open in a dish. After most of the gallon was gone, with no reduction in visitors, he tested the coolant. Apparently not all coolant is the same, this stuff is basically green water:doah: lesson learned.

I've had squirrels eat through my spark plug wires. I was less than happy, but I needed a new set anyway.

And a new pellet gun. So ... let's say there are fewer squirrel problems nowadays.
