Dan 44 locked up

My front end just locked up. Made some wierd grinding noises and other sounds that I didnt like. Havnt had a chance to get it apart yet. What could have happened?

Any number of things could have let go. carrier broke, spider/side gears disintegrated, spider gear pin came out... pop the cover and take a look
