i bought a Dana 44 a couple months back, and the time has come to start putting things together. its going to need new balljoints, and new axle joints. are these things standard to a Chevy truck Dana 44? or are there year variations?

what brand of ujoints should i go with?

All ball joints are the same on the chevy D44/10 bolt, i would go with spicer axle joints.

I could be wrong on this, but I thought that all 44s/10 bolts take the same joint.

Don't see how you could go wrong with a TRW or Moog or McQuay. I'd run whichever your favorite parts house carries. Price is about dead even.

Definately run the Moogs, they use a grease fitting in the upper ball joint that is on the side of the ball joint so you don't have to take anything apart to grease the uppers like you do with every other ball joint out there. This is the newest design that has been around now for several years with the Moog ball joints.

I rebuilt my D44 about a year ago and the newer moog balljoint are topnotch and used spicer u joints on the axles too.

Yep, what everyone else has said. I've run MOOG's and Brute Force in my 44 since I rebuilt them 4 years ago and they are still working great :thumb:
