Hey guys, local guy advertised a set of 1 ton axles for sale.

i emailed and asked what they were, he replied 14b rear 12b front. Does the front 60 have 12 bolts?!

I might be scoring the pair for $100:D:D

iirc all dana patterns have 10 bolts in the cover...its worth a little further investagation tho, even if they turn out to be 3/4 ton..thats a good deal for $100.....i sell 10b rears for $150, for just the 10b rear.....12b, i sale for $200...this is 2wd axles...on 4x4 stuff i usually tack another $25-50 on, depending on condition and if i know what gears it has and such....oh and btw what they drive up in sum times helps determine price...if they drive up in a new duramax or other new model...they get the hi end of the scale,...if they drive up in the truck they need the axle for or some other old beater truck, they get the lower end of the scale...on that note, i always go parts hunting at the junkyards in my beat to heck 2wd 94 toyota...people make note of what your driving and see it as comparable to whats in your wallet!!!

I've never heard of a 12-bolt front...

I saw an ad with the same description in the columbus craigslist not to long ago. Never looked into it any further though, probably wouldn't have hurt.

well i just browsed around and all front ends 1/2 and 1 ton have 10 bolt covers.

wtf is this guy talkin about? I've seen people say 12 bolt front many times.

If this guy's selling a 60 i'm gonna have to wipe myself off if i get it for $100 alont w/ a FF rear.

He says 3.21 gears which is throwing me off a little, out of a '78 "1 ton" srw.

I've dealt with people like this... Just kinda nod in agreement. :doah: Go over and check it out for yourself... :haha:

The guy I bought my transfer case from was all excited because the front driveshaft was an "upgraded after market" shaft with a CV...

When he saw mine, he was like "Hey! Yours has the same upgrade!"

does the add say: WARREN HUBS

one of these days someone has to take the 12 bolt center section and weld dana 44 tubes to it just to say they have a 12 bolt front

how about the rear axle in my dads 89 tpi 305 powered formula 400

I cant find a pic that matches it online, I o****ed many times and it has 9 bolts on the dff cover:crazy: its driving me nuts

Its probably an old member here who went by the name of Executioner.

Do a search on his name and be prepared for lots of laughs.

I thought a D60 had 14 bolts on the cover. But I don't have one.

Sometimes I really think people count the LUG bolts to ID an axle.

d60 is the front one and d44 is in the back
