Dana 60 carrier and spider gears

Will a carrier and spider gears for a dana 60 front work in a dana 60 rear if i put the ring gear from the rear on it? the gears are welded in my rear and i want to go back to just a plain open carrier but the only one i found is out of a dana 60 front. any help will be great.

Most, if not all, Dana 60 fronts have 35-spline side gears in the carrier. The vast majority of Dana 60 rear axles are either 19 or 30-spline side gears. While the carriers and/or side gears are usually interchangeable between front and rear, meaning you can remove one version and bolt in the other, if the spline count is not the same on the side gears than the axle shafts will not match up.
