if I get a dana60 front that is geared 4.10 but I need to regear it to 4.56 what do I need?? just the R&P and an install kit?? will the 4.56 fit in the housing, I just don't want to miss anything when I do this cause I have read about gears not fitting in carriers etc.. so any help would be great.

I think you need a 4.56 carrier, have a friend who is going through this right now. I dont believe anyone makes a thick gear for the 4.10 carrier.

The carrier break for a low pinion D60 is 4.10/4.56 and there are no "thick" gears made for a LP D60. That means that you will need a new carrier if you want to go from 4.10's to 4.56's.

Here's a ton of info on D60 stuff.

You will need a new carrier, ring and pinion and install kit. Swapping gears isn't a simple remove and replace deal, there is a lot more to it. Here's a writeup on that.

thanks for the info I was afraid of that so now of coarse I need to know where to get one??? is there anywhere to get one new or will I have to buy one out of an old axle???
