I'm trying to help my brother who is 5 hours away. He has a Suburban with a Dana 60 front axle. The drivers side steering block had sheared off, I found him a replacement knuckle and at the same time we replaced the tierod with a HD one from ORD with their tierod ends.. come to find out the knuckle taper had been drilled out straight . Can we just get a heim joint and swap that one rod end out?
If so can someone point me in the right direction as to what all parts would be required?

They make inserts to fix that.

Good chance that the tie rod ends and heims are a different thread pitch, can't say I've seen heims that used the 7/8"-18 thread pitch.

Thanks for the answers. So that insert he would just have to make sure the hole is drilled to 7/8" and put the insert in? That's great news.

Yeah I can’t remember what size you drill to, but my buddy used one on his 60 that he messed up. Worked well for him.
