Well my DRW to SRW swap is on hold because one of the SRW hubs I traded for has a spun outer race. :surepal: :angry1: Of course, I've had these for a year or two so its too old to go back to the guy I traded with. :doah:

Is gmpartsdirect still the best deal or is there another vendor out there? gmpartsdirect's site says ~$460 for 2 shipped (that includes $80 freight).

take a hammer and center punch.

then punch little holes even spaced around the bearing race area in the hub to disturb the metal .

this will make the race fit a lot tighter.

old school trick that works a lot.

otherwise ebay seems to be the place or aftermarket on hubs only no rotors installed.

I thought about taking a punch to it but I'm sooooooo deep into this thing I hate to put it together with a hub I'll always be watching. I know Loctite also makes a product specifically for spun races.

I think I want to get at least one replacement and keep these for spares.

This is the trick I have used and it works.
You are making little craters like volcanoes to raise the surface and give it a grip too.

I think they're all about the same as far as pricing. ORD has them.

I checked ORD's site and unfortunately they're not competitive, they're about $75 (each) higher than gmpartsdirect.

I'm going to call a friend at a local chevy dealer monday and see what he can do.

Well, we havent talked a whole bunch lately so I didnt want the first call to be one wanting something. I sure would appreciate the help! If I've got anything you need, let a brotha know. :D Snail mail is good as I'm not in a super hurry (as usual) so a week or two wont hurt.

I'm getting close so get to get to working on one of your trucks, we'll need to go wheeling later this year. :woot:

Ok, I’m going to hold you to it… The Mouse is ready! Just needs gas and air…
I’ll send you the tracking numbers 1st of the week in a PM. :waytogo:

Oh yeah POST MORE PITURES! :dunno:

see if you can find a parts warehouse locally
I got my SRW hubs/rotors from a local outfit for about $380

That's a really good price, thanks! Fortunately, another member has helped me out with some hubs so I'll be SRW one night this week. :woot:

Don't ditch the old ones. The dimpling method will work especially accompanied with some sleeve cement. I think its a loctite product specifically for holding something like this in place. I can get you the number if you need it. I'd take the old ones off your hands if they are available.

I'm going to keep the old hubs for spares, just in case I ever need some. I plan on getting new races and doing the dimple & cement, I have a friend at Motion Industires that can get me the Loctite stuff.

If you feel like cutting some down, I have a spare set of dually bearing hubs.

Got a set of those. Thanks though. Mine need to be reamed for the 9/16" wheel studs. That's the part i'd like to avoid.

I understand, mine would need to be opened up too. If things change on these old ones, I'll holler at you.

I thought you were were running stock h1s. Did you change wheels or learn a trick I don't know about yet? :dunno:

I swapped to a set of Weld wheels like I used to have on my old crew cab. I'm sure I'll lose man/wheeler points for getting rid of the beadlocks but the wheels are a design I love so I jumped on them. At some point I'll buy some Stauns or Inner Air Locks for them to regain my lost points. :D
