ok well i have an 89 k5 with dana 44 true/trac or a detroit locker, cant remember as i am writing this:doah:, and warn hubs.

well i think its time i am getting ride of my 35'' tires and going to 40'' tires.
i found a dana 60 complete for $550.
been stationed in germany so long i dont know what a good price is. is that good?

also what should i sell the dana 44 for? thanx for the help guys Sandypants

If you found a Dana 60 that's an actual Dana 60 then yes that's a good price. Make sure you get someone who knows what they are looking for to go check it out and make sure it's not something else

That's a good price if it's a SRW D60, keep in mind that if it's a DRW D60 then it will cost you 300.00 or so to convert it unless you plan on running some H1 wheels.

If it's a chevy 60 it would have only one u-bolt on the pumpkin and will have 60 stamped on it

i have 16 inch rims on now, wonder how much new hubs would cost and where to get them...
if i do get rims i am thinkin 17 would be best choice... only care about function of the rim, tire cost for them, looks wont matter

Good thing somebody didn't already tell you how much new hubs would cost a couple posts up:whistle:

$550 is a okay price for a DRW D60 if complete and in decent shape, meaning you don't have to rebuild everything on it.

I think you missed the point about wheels, they MUST be H1 wheels because of the offset or custom order some wheels with the proper offset.

I think the kingpins are the huge dead giveaway for a Chevy 60, that way worst case scenario it's a Dodge (still useable), and if it ends up being a Ford cuz someone's a bonehead, it's worth even more if you turn around and sell it.

The definitive guide to not buying a dana 44 by mistake:

You cannot, I repeat cannot go by the u bolt/ stud thing. Theres a **** ton of dodge dana 44s out there that have studs on the pumpkin.

You need to look for the combination of open knuckles and kingpins. Nuff said.

Other things you can look for is the D60 stamped on the pumpkin and how about just the sheer size difference.

Yea there are alot of dodges with the one u-bolt but it's a good way to spot it first off when looking at the pumpkin from a distance. Then you can go by kingpins or the 60 stamped on there

Yes but I've seen many people go "O its got studs its a d60!"

well i got a picture of a d60 and the stamp on the 60 should be a give away or the fact i am gonna pull it off the one ton truck later this week...
well it sounds like a good price from what you guys said. i think i am gonna pick it up saturday.

as for the 44 i am selling mine. thats why i was wanting to know a good price for it since it had the locker and warn hubs/ in perfect condition.
