Dana 60 wobble

tire resurfacing

I saw it in a 4x4 mag a few years ago. "Tire trueing", they actually shave the high spots out of the tread to round the tire. I have never seen a place that does it, I am interested though since my 37s have flat spots from a panic stop.....

I'm not sure it would help much anyway. When my F-350 got going real bad a few times (about 30-35 mph) I stuck my head out the window and looked at the wheel and it looked like I was steering the wheel left and right violently. Balancing and trueing should help with up/down motion.

owenst7-- Anchorgae and Reno?

Cool, I thought maybe you were a slope worker. Thats where I am right now. Definitely not making $47 an hour!! I drove through Reno a couple years ago, it looked pretty nice.

Ya but all you slopers have work through the winter. Construction season is all but dead in the winter. Lots of guys that have worked for us over the years do the slope thing in the winter. It's a good deal but it seems like it would be real tough on a family.

Wobble Wagon in the flesh

Here she is in all her glory. I have three old 35 inch tires, that didn't seem to wobble as much, might try swapping out on the front tires to see if it goes down.

Swapped out front tires

I swapped out the front two tires with some old radial 35 inch tires. Boy what a difference. Only drove about 5 miles back and forth from work, but the wobble has seemed to gone away. I will try it out for a while I look for a set round tires. It suprises me how much a little out of round can make a difference. What do you guys think if I get new bais ply tires? I can get the military 37" tires for $100 a piece, not too bad a price for that much rubber.

The 37s are radials (apologies if you already knew that). I loved my 37s until I locked up all 4 on the highway and put f#%ing flat spots on them.:angry1::angry1::angry1::angry1::angry1: Before that they were very smooth on the road. I air them down to 15 or so and they go like hell in the mud and rocks. They're never going to stick like bias but they do the trick for me. I think you would like them, they're a really good deal IMO.
BTW, kick ass blazer!!

i replaced he bushings in the shackle hanger riveted to the frame. pretty much took it away and that was a year and a half ago and since then ive been beating on it pretty good but it did just come back on certaing bumps. but im sure its do to shackle bolts geting loose/tire air pressure...
